1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using BuyCarCheck ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What We Provide

BuyCarCheck provides two tiers of vehicle information:

Free basic check — tax status, MOT status, make, model, colour, engine capacity, fuel type, and CO2 emissions sourced from the DVLA.
Full report (paid) — includes write-off category checks, outstanding finance markers, mileage history, and previous plate changes sourced from authorised data providers.

3. Accuracy of Information

Vehicle data is sourced from the DVLA and other authorised third-party providers. While we take reasonable steps to ensure accuracy, BuyCarCheck does not guarantee that the information is complete, up to date, or free from error. Data is provided for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for a vehicle purchase decision. Always conduct your own due diligence and, where appropriate, seek independent professional advice.

4. Payments & Refunds

Paid reports are charged as a one-time fee per vehicle check. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By purchasing a report you agree to Stripe's terms of service.

Due to the digital nature of the product, refunds are not available once a full report has been delivered. If you experience a technical issue that prevented report delivery, please contact us at support@buycarcheck.com within 48 hours and we will investigate.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to scrape, crawl, or bulk-query the Service using automated tools
Resell or redistribute report data to third parties without written permission
Attempt to circumvent rate limits or security measures

6. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, and software on BuyCarCheck are the intellectual property of BuyCarCheck or its licensors. You may not reproduce or redistribute any part of the Service without prior written consent.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BuyCarCheck shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service or reliance on vehicle data provided. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific report giving rise to the claim.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
